The launch event for the State of Natural Resources Report (SoNaRR), took place yesterday in Cardiff.
Conducted every five years in Wales, SoNaRR assesses the sustainable management of Wales’ natural resources, focusing on water quality, air purity, ecosystems, and biodiversity.
While some positive outcomes were shared, the findings presented by Dr Michael Gerardo and the Natural Resources Wales’ (NRW) Evidence Team were alarming, emphasising the urgent need for transformational change to restore nature and ensure a just transition.
The panelists unanimously agreed that immediate action is essential.

– Wales is positioned strongly with its ambitions to make a fundamental contribution.
– Wales must aim to cross all five bridges for the future, simultaneously.
