The 5th Annual Society of Black Academics (SBA) Conference was held yesterday at the Great Hall, King’s College London, with the opening remarks given by Dr Ade Oyedijo, the Director of SBA.
Having attended the conference two years ago, it remains a standout event on my calendar. Being an ally and advocate for the cause, and benefiting from the enriching discussions personally, yesterday’s conference was truly engaging.
The SBA’s discussion trajectory is shifting from merely survival to flourishing, evident in the diverse range of topics discussed, including inclusivity, belonging, financially flourishing, well-being, mental health, and the crucial roles of sponsors, allies, and advocates.
It was a fantastic conference that delivered on its promises!
