With the Conference of Parties (COP) 2024 on Climate Change over and a further push for action, my Recommended Read is ‘There is No Planet B: A Handbook for the Make or Break Years’ (Updated 2021 edition), authored by Mike Breners-Lee.
๐ตโโ๏ธ Breners-Lee is leading expert on carbon footprinting and offers a well-researched and written book, which is accessible to a wide audience.
๐ Published by Cambridge University Press the book is available in Kindle as well as Paperback format. The book is 336 pages in length and reasonably priced.
๐ฎ The updated 2021 edition offers fresh content on protests, pandemics, wildfires, carbon targets, investment and much moreโฆall of which are centred around key questions such as: given all this, what can I do? how can we avoid blundering into disaster?
๐ Where there is feeding of fear, Breners-Lee explores the various environmental and economic challenges we face today with practical actions we can take to enact positive change. He crunches the numbers and plots a course of action that is full of hope.
๐ Concepts centred around our โneedโ and โgreedโ are tactically handled in a balanced diligent manner without shying away from such topics, with data and facts used to support.
โ The book contains a depth of information featuring regular Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), making it digestible and easy to reflect on.
