A few people have messaged me privately to say they have noticed I have been a little quiet on here. Work and life have simply taken over in the last few weeks. I am back up for air now.…expect more activity from me in the coming days and weeks!!
In the meantime, without further ado, my Recommended Read this month (slightly late) is ‘A Circular Economy Handbook’ 2nd Edition, authored by Catherine Weehan.
As a generation we are putting an unprecedented resource strain on our planet, we are witnessing a climate crisis and testing our planet’s boundaries. Long-term we must choose a path of peace, people, prosperity and planet. We must achieve a level of equilibrium. With this notion, Catherine’s 2nd edition provides a deep dive into a variety of business models to develop a new Circular Economy Framework 2.0.
In plain English Catherine navigates the real effect of circular practices, as part of the mitigation and adaptation piece that is seated within the climate change discourse.
The handbook combines case studies, broad in terms of scope and gives insight into the practicalities of what is possible aswell as boundaries in the real world of circularity. The chapters at the end of the book on supply chain management are extremely useful as one of the most challenging areas of the circular economy.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants an overview of the principles driving circular thinking, looking for ideas on how to move their company closer to the circular economy, those in need to a framework to approach the topic and finally anyone just dipping their toe in the water with the circular economy concept.
