During my visit this week to Nepal, I was welcomed as a guest lecturer at Pokhara University by Prof. Gyanwali (Dean at School of Business), faculty and students.
It was a pleasure to host sessions for the MBA cohort on sustainability within product design, manufacturing and marketing.
Education for me has always been a two way process.
Here’s what I learnt during my sessions…
🧑💻 More about the students;
🏢 Their deep understanding of sustainable development and the interconnection within the business discipline;
📝 Their awareness of models and international frameworks including the circular economy, localisation, sustainable development goals and the Paris Agreement.
🏞 The passion students hold for sustainability and desire to preserve nature – natural beauty Nepal has been gifted with;
😕 Concerns students shared over the inequity within the climate change conversation…ie actions of developed countries impacting developing countries’ environmental conditions and;
🏔 Students’ concerns over the mountains melting! Yes, Mount Everest is melting…due to climate change!
💚 I was also reassured there is hope with the deep passion students hold to be agents of change as they step into professions.
