Some interesting points from our meeting today and advice for anyone implementing decarbonisation and Net Zero strategies….
Understand your direct and indirect emissions (indirect can sit as much as 80% of your overall emissions).
Indirect emissions include the likes of your supply chain activity. That’s the how? what? where? and with what? is produced. As well as how this is delivered to you and then managed at end of life (use).
Get down to numbers and emissions mapping…you’re in for an expedition, map your numbers and supply chain!
Avoid silo activity and budgeting….easier said than done.
Be realistic! You need a whole system approach, that means engaging internally and getting your supply chain onboard to deliver over time.
Review, Evaluate and Reshape approach…repeat again.
