…First week back, and I’m already over it 🙈. Who needs glossy “first week back” posts when we can be real, right? 🤷♀️
My week was a mixed bag 👜:
– Stomach bug over the weekend didn’t exactly scream “productivity” 😷
– Stepped into the office carefully with hope for calm 🤲
– Emails were a rollercoaster 🎢
– Corporation tax deadline first time ever missed (not my fault… I promise! 🙅🏽♀️)
– Spent half the week fighting over the heater 🔥
– Realised I’m already behind 📆 and we just started the year.
– Sustainability Reporting report write up = thrilling 📊 …was actually quite interesting, shows how geeky I am 🤓
– Self Assessment tax return finalised, that time of the year = fun times 😬 (…well for the UK government as they cash-up)
– Missed training, literally not been to the gym all week 🏃🏾♀️
– Snow = navigated myself to work and around without breaking my neck hashtag#achievementinmybooks
– Never-ending building contractor dramas 🔧
– Fixed mortgage for 2 years… fingers crossed it’s the right decision 🤞
– Reviewed a manuscript and edited my own manuscript…hoping if I’m a super kind reviewer, the universe with return that back to me when our manuscript goes in for review 🙈 (…not Reviewer 2)
– Inbox = battleground 🥊
– Reviewed healthcare policy renewal = necessary pain 🤒 (…I renew yearly out of fear…with my luck I’ll be struck down with a major illness the day after I cancel this policy)
– Movement = realised the rest of the month is going to be mayhem…need to navigate to Cardiff, Bristol, Morocco and London this month… will be logistically fun 🫣
– Business planning = feeling behind 📉 and energised 📈 🤸♀️ at the same time, not sure how that work 🤔
– And, honestly, I’m just trying to adult 👩
….when I really want to sign off and go play with toys in nursery….no tax returns, mortgage, deadlines, policy renewals or email inbox 😂. Anyone else just want to retreat to nursery? 🛝
p.s. finished the week with business planning days at a beautiful venue and thought…how lucky am I to even have all these stresses.
