Just finished my first Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales Board meeting today!
It was great to dive deep into Board papers. I’m still taken back by the breadth and depth of the organisation’s role and wide remit, aswell as the pivotal role the organisation plays for the future of Wales. Very much look forward to contributing to the organisation strategically during my tenure.
It was refreshing to break up the day with a site visit to Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales’ Saltmarsh creation project at Laugharne.
The team working on the Saltmarsh creation project gave us an overview of the project, where community resilience and natural-based solutions meet; outlining coastal defence, what we lose in the coastal squeeze, biodiversity lose at risk, aswell as outlining this may be local but has real international impact.
Today also really hit home what is at risk if our generation doesn’t tackle the climate and biodiversity crisis.
