Prof. David Loseby MCIOB Chtr’d FAPM FCMI FCIPS Chtr’d FRSA MIoD FICW and I finally got into the studio to record our Dr Sustainability episode.
For me this episode was just fascinating in respect of Boardroom insights, skills, personalities and architecture; hearing first-hand from someone who 30 years+ has been in Boardrooms for reowned brands including Arriva Group, Barclays Bank, GSK and Rolls Royce.
During his Board periods David has witnessed the transitional shift with sustainability and also procurement.
Major themes out of the episode include the irrationality in decision making, the role of behavioural science significantly shaping Board decisions and the importance of taking sustainability through the backdoor into an organisation to effectively operationalise it i.e. talk efficiency, cost savings, streamline systems and processes, realigning etc. This undoubtedly leads to carbon reduction and long-term sustainability.
