Place-based research and knowledge sharing is vital in order to understand sustainability through the lens of communities, context and culture as well as history and heritage.
🇬🇧 With this in mind, within the UK the East End of London has played a vital role in this space and is home to a range of communities including a large volume of Bangladeshi Muslims who migrated (…and hopefully integrated) into the UK over the decades.
The changing landscape of dress and language for Bangladeshi Muslims in the East End are addressed in Dr Fatima Rajina’s (my niece) latest book launched and mini tour around the UK (….yes, she’s even doing a tour)
