Juliet’s governance, risk and compliance perspective is particularly timely, and we are proud to see one of our Centre for Sustainability colleagues contributing to such an important global conversation.
The article highlights a serious issue that is often overlooked in sustainability conversations: armed groups and security risks are already embedded within parts of global supply chains.
For businesses, this is not simply a logistics issue.
⚖️ It is a governance issue.
⚠️ It is a risk issue.
🌍 It is a sustainability issue.
🏛️ It is a board-level issue.
Responsible supply chains require more than efficiency and cost control. They require visibility, due diligence, local intelligence, ethical procurement, and long-term foresight.
At Centre for Sustainability, we believe that sustainability must go beyond surface-level commitments. Organisations need to understand not only what they buy, but where it comes from, who is affected, and what risks may sit several tiers upstream.
This article is a strong reminder that supply chain resilience and sustainability must now be considered together.
